About us. Jahuapacha, which in Quechua means heaven on earth, is a recently built tourism company. Together with Andando Tours, a company with wide experience in tourism on the Galapagos Islands, we have formed an strategic alliance to be able to deliver a product of similar characteristics as on the Enchanted Islands: excursions in the wilderness with a first hand nature experience, with comfort and security. Our goal is to share with you the wonders of the Ecuadorian Andes: the volcano avenue. We would like to spread the importance of this fragile enviroment and its influence on the other ecosystems, including the biggest biodiversity hotspot of the world: the Amazonian rainforest. The directives of the company have over 15 years of experience on these volcanoes, turning at this point their passion for the Ecuadorian Highlands in their profession as it is shown by their resumes: CHARO MEJIA She Works at receptive tourism since 1992 as General Manager of Andando Tours and as Angermeyer Cruises President since 1996. Among various representations she has been Member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Ecuadorian Tourism Companies since the year of 2001, and has been its President from 2003 until 2005. She occupied the Vice-presidency of the Association of Tourism Operators of Ecuador in the year 2005, and in the Pichincha's Tourism Chamber she has been part of the committee of the Honor Court from 2003 to 2005 and its Director from 2005 to 2007. She received the tourism merit award "José Tobar Tobar" in the year 2001. CARLOS BEATE Mountain climber since 1994, he has successfully climbed the main snowcapped mountains from the country and has made many excursions on the Ecuadorian Andes. In the German Army he specialized himself in survival techniques and first aid in the wilderness for over 4 years. Then he traveled to Spain where he got certified as a guide in the Mountain School of Madrid (Escuela Madrileña de Alta Montaña). He has been working in the Central mountain chain (Guadarrama) in Spain the last years. He speaks Spanish, English and German. GONZALO GORTAIRE Gonzalo studied Agricultural engineering at the University of the Ecuadorian Army (Escuela Superior Politecnica del Ejercito), winning a scholarship due to his excellent performance at the mountain climbing club. He has traveled across the country gaining vast knowledge about the Ecuadorian flora and fauna, becoming an expert on these subjects. Thanks to his scientific and technical formation and his long experience in mountain climbing, to have him on any excursion is an excellent chance to learn a lot about the biological history of Ecuador. He speaks Spanish and English.

Jahuapacha, que significa cielo en la tierra, es una empresa turística formada recientemente que junto Andando Tours, empresa con basta experiencia del turismo en Galápagos, conformamos una alianza estratégica, para entregar a ustedes un producto con las características del turismo que se realiza en Islas Encantadas: excursiones de naturaleza, en convivencia con ella, con seguridad y confort. Entre otras representaciones ha sido Miembro del Directorio de la Asociación de Empresas Turísticas del Ecuador desde el año 2001 y su presidente en el período del 2003-2005. Vicepresidente de la Asociación de Operadores del Ecuador en el 2005. Y en la Cámara de Turismo de Pichincha ha ejercido como vocal del Tribunal de Honor en el periodo 2003-2005 y Director en el periodo 2005-2007. Galardonada con la presea al merito Turístico "José Tobar Tobar" en el año 2001. CARLOS BEATE Andinista desde el año 1994, ha subido con éxito los principales nevados del país y realizo excursiones por la serranía ecuatoriana. En el ejército alemán, se especializó en técnicas de supervivencia en la naturaleza y primeros auxilios en condiciones inhóspitas, durante más de 4 años. Más adelante viajó a España donde se acreditó como guía en la escuela madrileña de montaña. Ha ejercido como guía los últimos años en la cordillera central española. Domina los idiomas alemán, español e ingles al 100% y estudia francés. GONZALO GORTAIRE Ingeniero agrónomo de profesión, becado por la Escuela Politécnica del Ejército, por su destacada participación en el Club de Andinismo. Ha viajado a través de todo el país, actividad que le ha permitido profundizar sus conocimientos de la diversidad de la flora y fauna ecuatoriana, convirtiéndose en un gran conocedor de está materia. Su formación técnica-científica y a su larga experiencia en andinismo, hacen que su compañía en cualquier excursión, sea una excelente oportunidad para aprender sobre la historia biológica del Ecuador. Habla español e ingles al 100%.
